🧠 Overview

Smart Remit is a mobile app built to simplify and secure international money transfers for Sri Lankan users. Our goal was to create an experience that feels intuitive from the first tap—real-time exchange rates, multilingual support, and reliable transaction tracking all wrapped in a clean, user-friendly interface. We wanted users to feel confident, informed, and in control of their money—anytime, anywhere.

🎯 The Problem

We spoke to users and uncovered a familiar set of frustrations:

• KYC processes were too complex and unclear

• Exchange rates were confusing and hard to trust

• People were unsure if their money was secure

• There was no clear way to track transfer progress

These pain points created stress during a process that should feel safe and straightforward.

We shaped our design decisions around what really mattered to our users:

• Quick transfers that don’t require a manual or guesswork

• Trust in the system—clear info, secure flows, no surprises

• Accurate, live exchange rates at their fingertips

• Smooth KYC verification that works without confusion

• Real-time updates so they always know where their money is
